My Stay At Le Sutra in Mumbai
I came across Le Sutra online over Christmas by chance. I normally stay at the Taj Land’s End, which is luxurious and I’ve always loved staying there but this time I wanted to try somewhere new, something a little more unique. It immediately appealed to me as the vibrant photos leapt off the page. Le Sutra is an art hotel based on Indian mythology.
Hotel Review: Le Sutra, Khar (W), Mumbai in India
Recently I was invited to Le Sutra – a unique art hotel located in the buzzing Khar area in Mumbai. This hotel blends contemporary chic with traditional Indian art in its beautifully designed rooms. A lot of thought has gone into designing this hotel including the in-house gallery, spa called Angdai and the popular restaurant Out of the Blue. I was put up in the Shringar room which is one of the sixteen rooms housed in the world’s first Indian Art Hotel.
The Best Boutique Hotels in Mumbai
Le Sutra aims to be much more than just a luxury hotel: it is a one-of-a-kind art museum that also lets people stay. With fewer than 20 individually designed rooms on three floors, themed according to Indian mythology and heritage, this delicately crafted hotel is a work of art itself.
When rooms become canvases
it is six-year-old boutique hotel Le Sutra that has taken art to an altogether different level, having made it its very raison d’etre. Over 120 painters, 40 sculptors and 15 designers have created this exotic little getaway in Mumbai’s posh Khar neighbourhood, that positions itself as India’s first art hotel. Just two minutes walk from the Arabian Sea, this quaint, charming place draws its inspiration from mythology and from the three gunas — Tamas, Rajas and Sattva.
